Yes, thank you, Mr. Chairman. I would thank the Minister. He described some of the initiatives that are being undertaken under B -195. Last year’s Hansard, 605 . . . he mentioned some of these initiatives. I am looking at programme 9403 anal-ysis and policy, and we are talking about researching stakeholder engagement initiatives and initiatives of-fered to the community. …

Good evening, Mr. Speaker, and to those in the listening audience, and my colleagues who are here in the Chamber. Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to be able to give a few comments in term of the Fire Service Amendment Act and in context for me this really speaks in terms of an insurance programme in that the ability to …

Yes, the comment is the recruits at the airport, some of them are male and some of them are female. And yes, they do have f emales doing everything. But my more major point, Mr. Speaker, is that as part of this process there are more firemen per shift. A nd the Minister spoke already about the need to get …

I think th e Member is, I would say, unintentionally misleading everyone in terms of her explanation or intimation of payroll tax. It is incorrect in terms of the Budget Book. It clearly shows that anyone who earns less than $132,000 will actually save. So the idea t hat someone having two jobs, $48,000 plus $48,000, it is entirely incorrect.

The point is that the local economy consists of International Business and local businesses, and the PLP Government at this stage are responsible for the entire economy. And to try to say that we should not be dealing with the Interna-tional Busin ess, absolutely makes no sense. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, the Premier has already in his capacity as Minister of Finance talked about the rates, and so the comments in terms of nobody being able to afford [ to live ] at Morgan’s Point is actually totally inaccurate.

Oh, sorry. Today, Mr. Speaker, I am going to stand as a proud person who grew up in St. George’s. When the Budget was actually proposed, or stated, it caused me to go back i n my mind and think about the fact that in St. George’s, right, we have all these people who are, not characters, but they are …

Yes, Albari. —Ms. Patrice Minors . And so today, Mr. Speaker, I am going to go through what I call “they say.” So, they say, Mr. Speaker, that a balanced budget should be easy to do. Mr. Speaker, one of my colleagues always says that we are entitled to our opinions but we are not entitled to our own facts.
